Looking through the windows of time,
Old questions suddenly resurface,

Who were you then?
What are you now?

Are you still concealing your feeling?
Afraid of what people might say?

You told yourself to always get it together,
Swallow every problem even if it’s bitter.

You never fed your ego,
Cause you thought your emotions,
Didn’t deserve validations.

But look at you now,
The countless “I’m fine”,
Your lack of vulnerability,
The smile on your face when you were crying,
Taking up the corner of the stage invisibly.

Rather,
You finally show them,
The bruise on your hand,
The fear inside your brain,
And I can see you,
Wearing pain like it was nothing.

You finally realise,
It’s good to woman up and reflect,
But it’s also okay,
To sometimes show your defects.

Your life was fine,
And so were you,
But I like the new you better.
